Why cycle?

Cycling is a great way to get healthy, save money, beat traffic jams, and save the planet. Cycling in Brighton & Hove is a great way to get around. Below we've listed five good reasons why we think it's good to cycle.

Cycling is good for you: Health professionals recommend that we do 30 minutes of exercise at least five times a week. Cycling is a great way of doing this as it can be built into your daily routine. Use your bicycle to commute to work. You don't have to do it every day, but you might find that once you start, you can't stop!

Cycling is quick: Most journeys within the city can be quickest by bicycle.  When you take into account the traffic and cost of car or bus, cycling quickly becomes a sensible option for getting around.

Cycling time is 'quality time': Consider how enjoyable cycling is compared to the stesses of driving -- even over longer distances.  Cycling is relaxing -- you'll arrive feeling much fresher.

Cycling is great for the environment:  Cycle for 25 minutes every day instead of driving, you'll save around 165kg of carbon dioxide emissions within a year.

Cycling is good for your community:  By cycling to your local shops you are supporting your local economy -- why not have look around the website and find out what is available to you locally.
