Walk to School week 2008
Brighton & Hove celebrated Walk to School week from 19-23 May and our theme for 2008 was 'Sound detectives'. The JourneyOn campaign invited artists to work with five schools to take a unique look at walking to school.
Artists usedthe sound detectives theme to create and experiment with poetry, film, photography,
art and even a robotic dance, culminating in an event for the whole school.
Throughout the week, hundreds of children enjoyed very different journey to school – not just walking, but focusing on the sounds they hear along the way, and taking part in some creative and innovative activities.
