Journey Planner - Quick Help
You can search for the Start and End points of your journey by entering an address, postcode or place of interest in the "From" and "To" text boxes or alternatively you can right click on the map. You can also select start and end points you have previously entered by clicking on the history arrowTo obtain the most accurate results please provide a full postal address (including postcode) if possible. You may be offered alternatives if the journey planner finds a number of addresses. Please visit the help page for tips on searching.
For public transport journeys you must select your date and time of arrival/departure.

- Driving costs are 70 pence per mile driven . This figure is based upon a typical car used a UK city centre and includes tax, insurance and fuel. Please note these calculations are based on a typical road vehicle and are only approximations. Public Transport costs are based on single journey fares, and where appropriate this will include the citycentre fare (£1.30). If you are making more than one journey each day outside the city centre area it is worth buying a saver ticket (£3.60) available from the bus driver.
- The calories calculated are based on a person weighing 160 lbs and for Walking it is based on a walking pace of between 3-5 mph, approx 100 Kcal per hour and for Cycling it is based on a cycling pace of between 10-13 mph, approx 135 Kcal per hour.
- For Driving carbon emissions are based on 0.2Kg carbon emissions per km and Public Transport is based on 0.05Kg carbon emissions per km
